If your event provides the attendees who register with an option to bring a guest, there are two main ways that you can collect the guest info, depending on which meets your needs best, as outlined below:

Option #1: Custom form field on registration

You can create a custom form field on that event’s registration form, which asks for the potential name of a guest. Then, when you export the data out in order to have all the registration info for the purposes of printing name badges or anything else, it would show up with the registered attendee.

This option will not register the guest separately to the event or count them as part of the total number of attendees at the event. This option will also not provide any notification of registration or info about the event to the guest.

Option #2: Other pricing category on registration

You can create a second pricing category on that event’s registration form, which is titled something like “Guest” and associate this category with a price of $0 (or free). This way your attendee can register themselves to the normal paid category, and when they finish their registration the system gives them the option to register another. They would then go ahead and register their guest using the free guest category.

This option will register the guest separately to the event and include them as part of the total number of attendees at the event. When you export the data, it will also give you their name and any other info you may wish to collect. This option will also send the guest a confirmation and reminder email about the event, whereas the other will not.
