For any number of reasons, you may need to cancel a registration of one or more of your registered attendees. For example, a person registers to your event but needs to cancel, whether you have or don’t have a refund policy. Cancelling their registration opens up a spot in your event, which is especially important if your event has limited spots available.

How to Cancel a Registration

To cancel a student registration, follow these steps:

  1. Select Events (or the term you used for your events) from the top navigation menu.

  2. Select the event that the attendee whose registration you need to cancel is registered for.

  3. Click on Attendees (or the term you used for your participants), found either in the left side menu or the event stats panel.

  4. Locate the attendee and click on their name panel. This will open up their registration card. In the top right hand corner, click on the dropdown menu, which will expose an option to Cancel this registration. When you click on this, you will get a pop up to confirm that you want to go through with the cancellation. Click Yes if this is what you would like to do. You also have the option to fully and permanently delete the registration and the attendee details if there are no payment transactions yet entered for the attendee.

Cancelling is Not Deleting

Cancelling a registration maintains the registration in the system, with a “cancelled status”. This opens up a spot in your event, and it also gives you an option to re-instate or transfer this registration to another event, if needed.

Cancelling is Not Refunding

Cancelling a registration does not refund the person, if it is a paid event. These are two separate steps because there are times when just a cancellation may be needed without a refund, or times when a refund may be needed without cancelling the registration.

To refund a student registration, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Payment tab within the selected attendees registration card.

  2. Select Refund and issue the necessary full or partial refund, as applicable to your refund policy.

Your attendee will receive an automatic email(s) to notify them of their cancelled status and/or of any refunds issued in their name if you choose to by checking the option before finalizing your action.
